About

Mr. Simon Rogers is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with a special interest in oculoplastics and cataract surgery. He graduated from St Mary's Hospital Medical School in London to obtain his medical degree, before beginning higher specialist ophthalmology training in Wessex. In 2010 he completed training and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and was included on the specialist register of Ophthalmic Surgeons. Subsequently he completed two fellowships in the subspecialty of ophthalmic plastic surgery (oculoplastics): one in the UK at Salisbury and Southampton hospitals and one at the Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia.

Mr. Rogers offers a full range of ophthalmic plastic surgical procedures as well as routine and complex micro-incisional cataract surgery. These include upper and lower blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, eyelid skin cancer excision and reconstruction, lacrimal disorders and orbital disease.

Mr. Rogers is regularly involved in teaching ophthalmic trainees, junior doctors and medical staff and has organised courses to develop teaching skills. He has also been on numerous trips to an eye hospital in Burma to perform oculoplastic and cataract surgery as part of an overseas charity programme (the Myanmar Eye Care Program).

He has several publications in peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals and has presented at national and international conferences.
