Mr Saunders qualified in Medicine from the University of Birmingham in 1992, before completing his surgical training in Bristol. He then undertook advanced ENT training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and St Mary's Hospital in London. Mr Saunders also undertook training in Brighton and the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital. Furthermore, he completed a year-long fellowship in Otology and Skull Base Surgery at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, Australia under the supervision of Professor Paul Fagan.

He has practices in Brighton, Worthing and Haywards Heath and also provides consultations at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital and Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre.
