About Prof Mohammad Bari

Professor Mohammad Bari is a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in all aspects of knee replacement and primary hip replacement. As an expert in knee surgery, Professor Bari has experience treating all types of conditions, from sports injuries to arthritis. He is skilled in performing cruciate ligament reconstruction, arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery and both partial and total knee replacements. He also specialises in cartilage injuries, osteochondral defect resurfacing and tendinopathies surrounding the knee. Professor Bari has numerous professional memberships, he is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Association for Surgery of the Knee and American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a founder member of the British Indian Orthopaedic Society (BIOS) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He completed his MBBS in 1982 from Calcutta, and completed postgraduate training in England where he trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Professor Bari has also been active in research in the field, and has several publications. He has presented his research at conferences both nationally and internationally, as well as being involved in teaching. Professor Bari is a Royal College tutor and examiner, he is also involved in training Orthopaedic Specialist Registrars from the Northwest Deanery.
