Iain Findlay obtained his medical qualification in 2002 at Edinburgh University. He proceeded to complete his basic surgical training at Guy's and St Thomas Hospital in London. He then underwent a specialist orthopaedic training on the South East Thames Rotation. In 2012, Dr Findlay achieved the FRCS in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He obtained two specialist fellowships, making him a Knee and Trauma Fellow at King's College Hospital, London, followed by a Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellow at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. In 2015, he became a Consultant at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester. He is interested in the knee and hip surgery with several international publications and presentations. One of his publications is on knee replacement techniques, hip replacement outcomes and complex lower limb trauma. He reviews for the Knee journal. As a Consultant, Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, his specialist interests include knee and hip surgery, with practices that include knee and hip replacements, revision knee replacements, arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, ligament reconstruction, patient-specific knee replacements, partial knee replacements and lower limb trauma. Dr Findlay utilises recent proven technology, surgical techniques and implants. To keep working according to best practices, he attends national conferences and courses, leads clinical governance at Dorset County Hospital and works with the South West Knee Surgeons Group. He is a sports enthusiast and participates in skying, running, and swimming; he is a retired rugby player. His family is young and lives locally in the Dorset countryside.
