Mr Hersh Deo is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 10 years of Consultant experience. He graduated from St George's Hospital Medical School (University of London) in 1996. After completing a Master of Science degree from Imperial College and higher surgical training in the Southeast Thames Deanery, Mr Deo went on to complete specialist Fellowships in Adelaide and at Guy's Hospital in London. He specialises in knee and hip surgery.

Mr Deo was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2012. He became Clinical Lead of the Orthopaedic Department in 2018 and was promoted to Divisional Director of the Trust in 2019.

Mr Deo's special interest is in the treatment of sports knee injuries such as ACL rupture, meniscal tears and cartilage damage. Mr Deo also specialises in total and partial knee replacements and total hip replacements.

Mr Deo is an expert at treating conditions of the patello-femoral joint such as instability (MPFL reconstruction) and osteoarthritis (patello-femoral joint replacement).

He is particularly interested in knee preservation procedures such as cartilage regeneration, high tibial osteotomy and partial knee replacements.

Mr Deo is passionate about using evidence based surgical techniques and implants.

Mr Deo captained his University cricket team and won 3 successive tournaments in London. He still enjoys playing club cricket as well as tennis, skiing and golf. He is a keen cook.
