Das Interesse und Engagement von Melanie für die Arbeit mit Menschen zeigte sich bereits früh während ihres Freiwilligen Sozialen Jahres in einem Pflegeheim. Dort sammelte sie wertvolle Erfahrungen, insbesondere im Umgang mit Menschen mit Demenz. Die Arbeit mit älteren Menschen und Menschen mit Demenz erfüllt sie bis heute besonders.

Im Laufe ihres Ergotherapie-Studiums legte Melanie gezielt Schwerpunkte auf die Fachbereiche Neurologie und Geriatrie. Durch Auslandserfahrungen während des Studiums sowie durch ihre Tätigkeiten in Pflegeheimen, der (akut-)neurologischen Kurz- und Langzeitversorgung und in neurologischen sowie onkologischen Rehabilitationszentren verfügt sie über ein breites Spektrum an Wissen und Erfahrungen.

Besonders wichtig ist es ihr, klient:innenzentrierte Ergotherapie anzubieten, um individuelle Ziele zu erarbeiten, abgestimmte Lösungen zu entwickeln und so den persönlichen Alltag ihrer Patient:innen nachhaltig zu verbessern.
