After graduating from medical school at King Abdulaziz University, Dr Merdad obtained a Master's degree in Public Health from Tufts University in Boston, USA. Following this, he undertook a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in the USA. Dr Merdad is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a member of the American Head and Neck Society and the American Thyroid Association.
