She has extensive experience in treating lung cancer, thymic malignancy, and myasthenia gravis. She also specialises in performing bronchoscopy, laser, stenting, and treating pneumothorax, pleural effusion, and infection of the pleura/empyema.
Miss Al-Sahaf has received several awards and recognitions for her outstanding contributions to the field of thoracic surgery. In 2018, she was awarded one of the first national training fellowships in Robotic Thoracic Surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2019.
Miss Al-Sahaf is the Lead for Training and Enhanced Recovery after Thoracic Surgery, demonstrating her dedication to both patient care and the professional development of her colleagues. She is a member of several professional organisations, including the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland (SCTS), and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC).
