About

Dr. Matthew Broadhurst is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon with a specialist focus on voice, throat, and sleep-related breathing disorders. He is the founder of the Queensland Voice Centre, where he provides dedicated care for patients with complex laryngeal conditions, including professional voice users.

He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Flinders University, Australia, in 1996, and went on to achieve Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2005. Dr. Broadhurst further advanced his subspecialty expertise through a fellowship in laryngeal surgery and voice restoration at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA.

His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the voice and airway, including vocal fold paralysis, nodules, cysts, and polyps, as well as laryngeal papilloma, spasmodic dysphonia, and subglottic stenosis. He also treats snoring and sleep apnoea as part of his work in sleep-disordered breathing.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Broadhurst has contributed extensively to research in his field, with numerous publications and book chapters. He is actively involved in education, teaching on laryngeal surgery courses, and is a member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and the Australian Voice Association.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
