About
Mr Qureshi undertook two specialist vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the prestigious Birmingham Midland Eye Centre and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2023.
His clinical expertise includes the surgical management of retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, diabetic retinopathy, and complex cataract cases. He also has extensive knowledge and experience in the management of cataract complications including secondary intraocular lenses and scleral fixated lenses. Furthermore, his clinical interests include the management of retinal disorders including age-related macular
degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions and other retinal conditions.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Qureshi is an accomplished educator and mentor. He regularly teaches medical students, junior doctors, and ophthalmic trainees, and has contributed to the development of training programmes for allied healthcare professionals. He is also actively involved in research, having authored several peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at international conferences including ESCRS, EURETINA, and FLORetina.
Mr Qureshi has received numerous awards recognising his clinical excellence and commitment to patient care, including the BEAVRS Vitreoretinal Fellow Prize and the ASCRS 1st prize Award.
He is a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the British and Eire Association of Vitreoretinal Surgeons (BEAVRS), and the Midland Ophthalmological Society demonstrating his commitment to excellence in ophthalmology.
