Dr Livia Martucci is a consultant perinatal psychiatrist, Chair of the Perinatal Faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and clinical lead for perinatal services at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). Fully registered with the GMC and a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, she has over 11 years of experience in the NHS and completed her specialist training at SLaM. She holds a PhD in genetics and a postgraduate diploma in medical education.
Dr Martucci trained in both perinatal and general adult psychiatry on the prestigious Maudsley and Royal Free rotations. She has extensive experience across outpatient and inpatient settings and is trained in parent-infant psychotherapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Her clinical expertise includes the assessment and management of a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and psychotic illnesses, particularly in the perinatal period. She also works with partners and fathers experiencing antenatal or postnatal mental health challenges.
She currently leads a well-established NHS community and maternity liaison perinatal team. A dedicated educator, she has held senior academic training roles and is the Chair of the Perinatal Faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists since June 2024. Her clinical interests include parenthood, trauma, university adjustment, complex PTSD, and medication dilemmas in psychiatric care.
