He underwent further  specialist Fellowship training in  Hip Surgery at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital under the tutelage of Professor Middleton. His NHS practice is as an Orthopaedic & Trauma Consultant at Poole General Hospital and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

Mr Gallagher devotes a lot of time to research and is involved in several studies and projects, which has been published in peer review journals and presented at National Conferences.
