After completing his MD thesis at the University of Plymouth in 1998, he undertook further training at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. Mr Sargen completed a Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery in Adelaide, Australia in 2004-5.
