About Jordon Thompson
Jordon Thompson is a bilingual Audiologist with nearly a decade of experience in both the public and private sectors of audiology in Canada and the UK. He currently serves as Clinical Lead, where he oversees the Tinnitus and Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) services. Jordon holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in French from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, and completed his graduate degree in Audiology at the francophone institution l’Université d’Ottawa in Ottawa, Canada. He is a registered audiologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK and is committed to staying at the forefront of clinical advancements and best practices in audiology. Expertise and Care As Clinical Lead, Jordon is responsible for the development and delivery of specialised services in tinnitus and auditory processing disorders, ensuring care is tailored, effective, and evidence-based. His clinical expertise includes: • Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Management: Providing individualised, research-based therapy for patients living with persistent or intrusive sound perception. • Auditory Processing Disorder (APD): Leading the diagnosis and management of APD in both children and adults, with a particular interest in bilingual cases. • Adult and Paediatric Audiology: Broad experience in hearing assessments, hearing aid technology, and rehabilitation across all age groups. • French-Language Consultations: As a fluent francophone, Jordon offers bilingual services in English and French, improving access to care for diverse patient populations. Research and Publications Jordon’s academic interests explore the interaction between language and auditory processing. His research on the effects of bilingualism and multilingualism on auditory brainstem responses has been published in Canadian Acoustics /acoustique canadienne journal and Bilingualism: Language and Cognition. This research continues to inform his clinical work, particularly in the assessment and support of multilingual patients with auditory processing challenges. Why Audiology? Jordon’s passion for audiology stems from a deep interest in the intersection of language and science. With a background that bridges biology and communication, audiology offered the ideal pathway to combine both fields while making a meaningful impact in people’s lives. His approach to care reflects this blend—scientifically grounded, linguistically informed, and always centred on the individual needs of his patients.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
