Dr Smuk is a passionate consultant paediatrician with over ten years of experience in paediatric medicine. She is a Royal Australasian College of Physicians fellow and works as a visiting medical officer at the Royal North Shore Hospital with consultations at The Paediatric Clinic and Randwick Specialists. Dr Smuk is an expert in all areas of paediatric treatment with a particular interest in helping families adjust to the challenges of having a baby, as well as general paediatric concerns including asthma, eczema, constipation, growth disorders, development, and the care of children with complex medical requirements. She enjoys managing the wide spectrum of medical issues that infants and children may face.
Dr Smuk earned her medical qualification from the University of Sydney and went on to train in general paediatrics at the Sydney Children's Hospital Network. Prior to studying medicine, she earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) and worked as a Paediatric Speech Pathologist for several years. She also worked as a respite caregiver for families with children who have developmental difficulties.
Dr Smuk is a mother of four small children and understands the numerous difficulties that come with being a parent. Outside of work, she enjoys photography and spending time with her family.
