Hela Mehak
Psychotherapy
About
Hela works in a person-centred and integrative way, drawing on a variety of evidence-based approaches to create a tailored therapeutic experience for each client. Her clinical practice incorporates Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), relational psychotherapy, and behavioural therapy. She believes in the importance of compassion, kindness, and non-judgmental care, and places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of her work.
Her professional background includes roles in private inpatient mental health settings, where she has delivered both individual and group therapy. She has also worked within university wellbeing services, offering dynamic interpersonal psychotherapy to students, and has delivered relational psychotherapy through the NHS as part of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme.
Hela is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and holds an MA in Counselling. She has also completed additional training in DBT and IPT essentials. She offers therapy in English, Dari, and Farsi, and works flexibly with both short-term, solution-focused models and longer-term exploratory approaches. Her clinical interests include trauma-informed care and the continued development of DBT-based practice.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
