His passion for orthopaedic surgery led him to complete his orthopaedic surgical residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago, United States. He later completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University, working closely with the distinguished Dr JP Warner.
Dr Baydoun furthered his training in advanced shoulder reconstruction techniques through an apprenticeship with esteemed orthopaedic surgeons Professor Pascal Boileau and Professor Gilles Walsh in Nice, France. Upon returning to the United States, he established a successful practice in Pittsburgh, where he honed his surgical skills and expanded his clinical expertise.
In 2016, Dr Baydoun returned to Lebanon and founded the Sports Medicine Program at the American University of Beirut and established the region's first Sports Medicine fellowship.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Baydoun served as Assistant Team Physician for prestigious professional sports teams including the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Bruins. A sought-after speaker, he shares his expertise at national and international meetings. He serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals and holds memberships with several societies within the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr Baydoun has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, significantly advancing orthopaedic surgery.
Dr Baydoun has expertise in the prevention, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, with specific expertise in shoulder surgery, reconstruction, sports medicine, and arthroscopy.
