Dr. Gunnar Gauff absolvierte seine Ausbildung zum Krankenpfleger am St. Vinzenz-Hospital in Coesfeld und begann anschließend das Studium der Humanmedizin an der Justus-Liebig-Universität in Gießen. Nach dem Wechsel an die Universität Essen, schloss er sein Studium im Jahr 2003, nach einem Auslandssemester an der University of Illinois in Chicago, ab. Dr. Gunnar Gauff absolvierte seine Ausbildung zum Facharzt für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe im Elisabeth-Krankenhaus Essen sowie am St. Franziskus Hospital Ahlen. In Österreich war Dr. Gauff unter anderem sechs Jahre als Oberarzt am Landesklinikum Horn tätig. Zusätzlich absolvierte er das Fortbildungsdiplom und das Diplom für Substitutionsbehandlung der Österreichischen Ärztekammer.
