About Dr Gemma Crighton

Dr Gemma Crighton is a paediatric haematologist who provides care for children experiencing non-malignant haematological conditions. These conditions include thrombosis, bleeding disorders, cytopenias (low blood counts), iron deficiency anaemia and haemolytic anaemia. Dr Crighton also has a special interest in fetal, neonatal, paediatric and obstetric transfusion medicine, immune thrombocytopenia, iron deficiency anaemia and haemolytic anaemia in children. Dr Crighton is a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr Crighton is also the past president of the Australia and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT) and was previously the chair of the paediatric subgroup of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) Clinical Transfusion and Haemovigilance Working Parties.
