Dr Gautam Vaddadi is a Consultant Cardiologist and Director of Cardiac Services at Cabrini Health. He has public appointments at the Alfred hospital and Northern Hospital, and he is the head of heart failure services at Northern Health where he is actively engaged in projects to improve the service. Dr Vaddadi specialises in general adult cardiology and has expertise in a range of non-invasive cardiology. His particular interests are in the treatment and management of general cardiology issues such as syncope, hypotension, and heart failure. He performs procedures such as echocardiography in stress echocardiography. He sees private patients at the Melbourne Cardiology Group.
Dr Vaddadi earned his primary medical qualification at the University of Melbourne and his Bachelor's degree in Medical Science from the Baker Heart Research Institute. He then undertook basic training at Austin Health and went on to complete his specialist cardiology training at The Alfred Hospital, where he gained knowledge and expertise in heart failure and transplantation.
He went on to undertake postgraduate research on the mechanisms of low blood pressure and fainting and has since published much of his research in renowned, peer-reviewed clinical cardiology journals. He was also won the Ralph Reader Prize from the Cardiac Society of New Zealand and Australia for his work.
