Dr Francis John Benedict Kynaston-Pearson is an accomplished consultant rheumatologist based in Nottingham, with vast experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of rheumatological conditions. He is highly skilled in chronic pain management, with particular expertise in rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis. Dr Kynaston-Pearson is also an expert in the treatment of rheumatological associated joint disorders, such as hypermobility.
Dr Kynaston-Pearson completed his medical training at the University of Leicester, where he obtained his MBChB and BSc degrees. He then gained experience in Oxfordshire, with rotations at the John Radcliffe Hospital and the Nuffield Hospital, before spending almost a year working in emergency medicine in Brisbane, Australia. He returned to England and undertook his early physician training at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Birmingham City Hospital. Dr Kynaston-Pearson completed his higher rheumatology specialist training in Nottingham, Derby, and Lincoln, where he qualified in both Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine.
During his final training year, Dr Kynaston-Pearson was appointed Chief Registrar at the Nottingham University Hospital Trust, where he worked closely with the Royal College of Physicians to improve quality standards in hospitals. Passionate about education, Dr Kynaston-Pearson took time out from his specialist training in 2014 to complete a Masters in Medical Education at the University of Nottingham, and he continues to mentor trainees and teach medical students. Dr Kynaston-Pearson is also actively involved in research and has published his work in peer-reviewed journals.
