About
Throughout her career, Fatima has been part of both large and small eyecare teams, contributing her skills to clinics specialising in glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, vision screening, and primary, secondary, and tertiary referral services. She is also involved in research, and has presented at various eye meetings and published her work.
Currently, Fatima holds positions at My-iClinic and Gordon Thomas Opticians, where she continues to provide her expertise. She has previously worked as a Pre-Registration Optometrist at Hammonds Eye Practice. Notably, she worked with Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP) as a volunteer, establishing a link between VCHP and City University Optometry department, creating opportunities for student optometrists to engage in VCHP clinics.
Earlier in her career, Fatima served as an Orthoptist Research Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital Foundation Trust, where she developed a research project focused on 'The genetics of strabismus.' Her responsibilities included designing protocols, study methodologies, ethical approvals, recruitment, assessments, and genetic testing preparation for participants and their families.
Fatima also has an impressive academic background, including Membership of the College of Optometrists (MCOptom), BSc (Hons) in Optometry, MmedSci in Orthoptics, and BSc in Orthoptics. With her knowledge and experience, she is dedicated to providing top quality services.
