Dr Thomas Newsom-Davis, Consultant Oncologist, currently works within the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London and sees patients privately in clinics across London. He is highly specialised in the treatment and diagnosis of thoracic malignancies, specifically mesothelioma and different cancers of the lung.
Dr Newsom-Davis began his medical education at University College London and Middlesex School of Medicine, graduating in 1998 with a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery. Following this, he underwent specialist training in medical oncology at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals. During his training, he also undertook a research degree focusing on tumour immunology, he was awarded a PhD for his work in this field. Following his training, he was appointed to the role of Consultant at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in 2010.
Currently, Dr Newsom-Davis is the Lead for the Lung Cancer Service at his current NHS hospital. He is also the Vice-Chair of the British Thoracic Oncology Group Committee, which is responsible for the education of medical professionals working in thoracic oncology across the United Kingdom. Moreover, he holds the position of Chair of the Harley Street Clinic Lung Cancer MDT and the HCA Healthcare UK Thoracic Oncology Board.
Dr Newsom-Davis is also an active member of the research community, with a very active clinical trial portfolio and regular invites to present his work at conferences globally. He actively engages with teaching lecturing for numerous professional organisations including the Royal College of Physicians, the European Society of Medical Oncology, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, the British Medical Association, and the Association of Cancer Physicians.
