Dr Tom Clark
About
He graduated from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' School of Medicine in 2004, before completing his specialist training in General, Geriatric and Stroke Medicine. He was appointed as a Consultant Physician at Kings College Hospital in 2013, providing care to older adults with general medical problems. In 2014 he was awarded an MSc in Leadership and Management in Healthcare, as well as a research prize for his work investigating intermediate care services for older adults.
In 2016 Dr Clarke was appointed Stroke Consultant and Clinical Lead for the Stroke Service at PRUH. He undertakes weekly Stroke outpatient work and has training and expertise in the administration of intramuscular botulinum toxin for upper limb spasticity following Stroke. He also treats inpatients on the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and Stroke Rehabilitation Unit, and is part of the transient ischemic attack (TIA) and thrombolysis teams.
Dr Clark was instrumental in the development of the ‘Acute Geriatric Medicine' service at King's College Hospital. This service works with the Emergency Department and local GPs to improve the care provided to older people through better access to Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment.
He has extensive expertise in all aspects of Geriatric and Stroke Medicine and takes a compassionate, holistic approach to care, ensuring that it is tailored to the individual's needs.
