About Dr Paul Brain
Dr Paul Brain is a leading Consultant Psychiatrist the Priory Hospital in Roehampton South West London, and for the NHS at St George's Mental Health Trust, the Wimbledon Mental Health Team, The Merton Assessment Team and until recently was also the Consultant for the Complex Depression and Anxiety Service. He has been a significant contributor to mental health services available and has been a specialist advisor to two Clinical Commissioning Groups.
He is experienced in all areas of general adult psychiatry, offering treatment for a range of conditions including anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, personality disorders and psychotic illnesses. His special clinical interest is in the field of Mood Disorders including atypical and treatment-resistant depression. He offers a client-focused holistic approach to treatment and his experience and knowledge enable him to give the best possible care.
Having qualified from Guy's and St Thomas's hospital in London with a Medical Degree, and a first-class Honours Degree in Psychology, Dr Brain completed an extensive psychiatry training scheme in London and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1999. He is heavily involved in medical education where he teaches, trains and assesses medical students, and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George's Hospital Medical School.
