Dr Geraghty's thesis focused on the causes of variability in Colorectal Cancer outcomes and the impact of the national bowel cancer screening programme. He won the prestigious SHIRE Award for Excellence from the British Society of Gastroenterology.

He specialises in Gastroenterology and Pancreaticobiliary medicine has gained additional specialist training and is competent in a variety of advanced endoscopy techniques, including Endoscopic Ultrasound and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography.
