General (Internal) Medicine
About
When treating breast cancer, it is essential to take into account the individual needs and preferences of each patient, the distinct types of breast cancer, which respond to different types of treatment, and the side effects of therapies. This is why Dr Bertelli tailors his treatments to each individual case, in partnership with the patient. The aim is to obtain the best possible outcomes, while reducing the impact on quality of life.
He first qualified in 1986 as MD in Genoa, Italy, specialised in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine and worked as consultant in the Genoa Cancer Institute and in Cuneo, before moving to the UK in 2002. After many years at Singleton Hospital in Swansea he joined the Sussex Cancer Centre in Brighton in March 2018.
