I am a consultant Gastroenterologist based at King's College Hospital, where I am the Clinical Director for Liver, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. 

I am a nationally-accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist (top 2% of practitioners in the UK) with specialist interests in therapeutic endoscopy and related conditions: achalasia, gastroparesis, inflammatory bowel disease and gut health in general. I talk about my work on Instagram!! (@prof.hayee). 

I trained at Guy's Hospital in 1999 and completed a PhD at University College London looking in gut immunity (specifically the role of innate immunity in Crohn's disease). I have retained an active interest in research throughout my career and supervise PhD fellows and basic scientists. I believe that research is essential to being an effective doctor and advocating for my patients. 

I was nominated to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2015 and retain active membership of a number of professional societies, including the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation, the American and European Societies for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Association for Bariatric Endoscopy. I also serve on the national Countil of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
