About

Clinical Interests:

I trained at Bristol Medical school and was appointed as a substantive consultant haematologist at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro in February 2019 having completed my training and post-doctorate research fellowship in the South West.
My areas of special interest are Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, myelodysplasia and general haematology.
I am particularly active in clinical research: I am the regional lead for non-malignant haematology research for the Clinical Research Network and the Department Lead for research in haematology at Royal Cornwall Hospital. I have written and published thirty seven peer reviewed research articles (including 4 in 2020) with a particular interest in lymphoma.
I have won a national award in research for my work including my contribution to HaemSTAR, a national research network for haematologists in training and have been shortlisted for the 2020 Clinical Research Network Research Team Award.
I am also an enthusiastic teacher of evidence-based medicine and critical appraisal of scientific literature. Outside of medicine, my main interests are being with my wife and young family, playing music and enjoying the Cornish countryside.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
