About Dr Dan Stephen Magnus
Dr. Dan Magnus is a highly experienced Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. He trained in Paediatrics and Paediatric Emergency Medicine in Bath, Bristol, and Toronto, and completed a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Additionally, he holds an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Magnus also serves as a Consultant Senior Lecturer in Global Health at the University of Bristol, where he directs the Global Health iBSc program. His role in education and global health is further complemented by his extensive experience in child health and international health projects. In his clinical work, Dr. Magnus was previously the Clinical Lead at the Children’s Emergency Department at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and he continues to be ian active member of the department. Dr. Magnus has a strong interest in global child health and has over 15 years of experience in global health projects. He co-founded Child.org, a charity that works in East Africa to improve child health and education. He was previously the Convenor of the RCPCH International Child Health Group and is currently working with the University of Bristol on paediatric injury prevention and treatment in Nepal, collaborating with the newly formed Nepal Injury Research Centre. As Co-Director of the Bristol Paediatric Clinic, Dr. Magnus brings his extensive clinical, academic, and global health experience to help shape the clinic's approach to paediatric care. His expertise spans across paediatric emergency medicine, global child health, and injury prevention, making him a well-rounded figure in the paediatric healthcare community.
