About Dr Craig Timms
Mr Craig Timms is a neurosurgeon based in Richmond, Australia. After completing his Medical Degree at the University of Tasmania in 1996 and an intern year at Burnie Hospital, he moved to Melbourne in 1998 to work at The Alfred Hospital. His early experiences in the neurosurgical unit sparked a deep interest in neurosurgery, leading to training across several major Melbourne hospitals. Craig completed his neurosurgical training, including a Master of Surgery and a year of clinical research, in 2007. Craig combines extensive hands-on expertise with access to the latest imaging and surgical technology, offering patients leading-edge treatments. While he embraces technological advances, he also retains the solid, 'old-fashioned' surgical skills developed before automation became standard, providing reassurance that an experienced surgeon is always in control. With over 15 years of post-training experience and more than 7,000 hours of private practice operating time, Mr Timms brings deep, proven expertise to every procedure. Known for his clear and patient-focused communication, Mr Timms ensures patients are fully informed and supported at every step. With Mr Craig Timms as your neurosurgeon, you can relax knowing you are in expert, experienced hands.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
