Ms Catherine Finlay
About
Catherine works with individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, chronic illness, and relationship challenges. Her practice also includes supporting clients affected by self-harm and suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, and issues related to identity and sexuality.
Her therapeutic approach is humanistic and integrative, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, and existential frameworks. She places strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, offering a space grounded in empathy, honesty, and care rather than directive advice or short-term solutions. For clients who find traditional talking therapy limiting, Catherine may incorporate creative and art-based techniques, as well as imagery or movement, to support expression and insight.
Catherine also offers walk-and-talk therapy, providing an alternative setting for therapeutic work that some clients find more accessible and grounding. Her role is to support clients as they explore their experiences and develop their own understanding and direction, working collaboratively at a pace that feels safe and appropriate.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
