Associate Professor Cameron Holloway is a consultant cardiologist based at Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital where he is the director of cardiac rehabilitation. He sees patients with a variety of cardiac diseases which he treats using advanced cardiac imaging techniques such as cardiac MRI for cardiovascular disease assessment.
A/Prof Holloway gained his MBBS from Monash University in Melbourne and went on to complete his basic medical training in the UK and Australia. Following this, he specialised in cardiology at St Vincent's Hospital before studying advanced cardiac imaging at the University of Oxford where his post-doctoral research looked at the mechanisms of heart disease using cardiac MRI. He also has a particular interest in metabolic cardiac problems, including complications of diabetes and HIV.
A/Prof Holloway is widely published and has recently been awarded a five-year research fellowship from the Australian Heart Foundation in which he will help to develop advanced cardiac imaging techniques.
