Mr Benjamin Baker MBBS, MRCS, PGCert(MedEd), MBA, FRCS(Plast) is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon based in Manchester, and one of the UK’s leading experts in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. He is registered on the GMC Specialist Register and is known for delivering natural results with surgical precision and patient-centred care. Professional Leadership Mr Baker plays an active role in advancing the field of plastic surgery in the UK. He is former President of PLASTA UK, a former Council Member of BAPRAS, and the current National Lead for the UK National Flap Registry and Quality Lead for Plastic Surgery at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. His wider surgical practice includes: • Breast augmentation, reduction, and uplift (mastopexy) • Implant revision and fat grafting • Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, and mummy makeover surgery • Skin lesion removal and skin cancer surgery • Reconstruction following head and neck, gynaecological, colorectal, and sarcoma cancer treatment Clinical Roles Mr Baker is a Consultant at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, home to Europe’s largest breast surgery service, and is one of the UK’s highest-volume microvascular reconstructive surgeons. His private practice is based at The Alexandra Hospital, The Christie Private Care, and Manchester Plastic Surgery. Training & Memberships Mr Baker completed a prestigious national oncoplastic breast surgery fellowship (TIG fellowship) in Newcastle, followed by an advanced international fellowship in reconstructive oncology and microsurgery at the world-renowned Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. He is a member of BAAPS, BAPRAS, ASPS, and ISAPS. A widely published author, he has contributed to over 25 peer-reviewed papers and 50 international presentations, shaping advancements in breast reconstruction, patient recovery, and surgical training.
