About

Ben Bowling is a highly skilled Physiotherapist with a wealth of experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in 2013 with a BSc in Physiotherapy, Ben began his career in the NHS, where he developed a keen interest in rehabilitating major trauma patients. This interest has since become his passion, as he is dedicated to empowering patients to regain a high quality of life alongside engaging in high-level activity and sport.

Throughout his career, Ben has remained committed to staying updated with the latest evidence-based practices. In 2022, he furthered his education by completing a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine. Currently, Ben holds an upper limb advanced Physiotherapy practitioner role, collaborating closely with upper limb orthopaedic consultants to deliver expert care in assessing, treating, and rehabilitating upper limb musculoskeletal conditions.

Ben's treatment approach revolves around a step-by-step process, involving specific goal-setting, clear communication, and fostering strong working relationships with his patients. He is passionate about helping individuals return to high-level physical activity, exercise, or sport.

Ben's specialist interests encompass a wide range of areas, including shoulder rehabilitation, post-operative care, ACL rehabilitation, shoulder instability, limb reconstruction, rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, and more. His dedication to his craft extends beyond his professional life, as he enjoys football, golf, cricket, rugby union, and rugby league.

Currently, Ben serves as an Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner in the upper limb Orthopaedic team at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. His extensive experience includes five years in rehabilitating major trauma patients, during which he played a pivotal role in developing the major trauma rehabilitation pathway at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Additionally, Ben completed a placement at the Sports and Exercise Medicine clinic at Mile End Hospital, where he gained valuable experience in managing rehabilitation plans for elite-level ballet dancers.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
