About Becky Burnett
Becky Burnett is a HCPC registered Creative Arts Psychotherapist at Portobello Behavioural Health. Before joining Portobello Behavioural Health, Becky worked at a specialised outpatient treatment centre for women in recovery from eating disorders and trauma. Her background has instilled in her a trauma-focused approach, which she integrates into her therapeutic work. Becky's therapeutic philosophy revolves around meeting clients with unconditional positivity, compassion, and empathy. She works with individuals to create a safe space where they can bring their whole selves, including the most challenging or shameful aspects, without fear of judgement. Utilising various creative mediums such as art making, images, stories, and more, Becky understands the power of creativity in therapy, complemented by the significance of verbal communication. Becky specialises in a range of issues including eating disorders, co-dependency, drug and alcohol addiction, attachment disorder, depression, anxiety, sex addiction, trauma, PTSD, low self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship issues, suicide ideation, abuse, bereavement, dissociative disorders, and stress, Becky is well-versed in a diverse set of treatment approaches. These include attachment-based therapy, creative therapy, family systems therapy, person-centred therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic therapy, relational therapy, and trauma-focused therapy.
