About
Throughout his career, Dr. Vaqas has developed a strong interest in brain tumour surgery and conducted groundbreaking research in this field. He obtained a PhD from Imperial College London, where he used advanced analytical chemistry to profile brain tumours during surgery. His research focused on the application of machine learning and minimally invasive technologies in neurosurgical procedures.
Currently, Dr. Vaqas delivers state-of-the-art brain tumour surgery in London and Essex. He holds the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London and serves as the Chair of the Brain & Spine Reference Group for the Northeast London Cancer Alliance. Additionally, he is actively involved in undergraduate medical education as the Neurology Specialist Lead at Anglia Ruskin University Medical School.
Dr. Vaqas is dedicated to patient safety and serves as the Neurosurgery Clinical Governance Lead at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. He is passionate about championing patient safety in healthcare systems both in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Vaqas volunteers for international charity projects focused on surgical interventions in Low and Middle Income Countries. He enjoys trail running, travelling, and reading, and frequently presents on the future of science and technology in the field of neuroscience.
