About Dr Anita Mitra
She graduated in medicine from Imperial College London School of Medicine. She completed her oncology training at the Royal Marsden and University College Hospital, and earned an MD focused on the genetics of prostate cancer at the Institute of Cancer Research. She manages a busy practice focused on prostate, bladder, and penile cancers, and is involved in two multidisciplinary teams. With a particular interest in advanced radiotherapy techniques, she leads stereotactic radiotherapy for urological cancers. Additionally, she is part of the University College Hospital team providing high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy for prostate cancer to neighboring hospitals. Dr. Mitra has a specialised focus on the management of penile cancer and is a principal investigator for several national and international studies on prostate, bladder, and penile cancers. Her expertise lies in treating prostate cancer with hormonal therapy, HDR brachytherapy, photon radiotherapy, and proton beam therapy.
