About
Mr Brookes gained his medical qualification in 2001 from the University of Bristol before completing his surgical training in colorectal and general surgery. During his training, he undertook clinical research at the University of Leicester and received an MD for his work on the treatment of colorectal cancer using compounds derived from cruciferous vegetables. He went on to pursue a post-CCT fellowship in pelvic floor dysfunction prior to his current position.
In addition to clinical practice, Mr Brookes has a passion for medical education and teaches medical students and surgical trainees at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He also has an ongoing interest in research and has had his work published in a number of peer-reviewed journals.
