Dr. Adrian Sartoretto is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with extensive experience in functional and nutritional gastroenterology and high-quality endoscopy. Since 2016, he has been consulting across various locations including Randwick, Double Bay, and Liverpool, with a specialised focus on bariatric and metabolic endoscopy. Notably, he completed the first Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty in Australia in 2016 and has since performed over 650 cases. He is also recognised for his expertise with intragastric balloons, having conducted thousands of procedures.
In his role as Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director at ClinX Group, Dr. Sartoretto oversees several healthcare services, including The Infusion Clinic, which is one of Australia’s highest volume iron infusion services. He also manages the BMI Clinic, which offers a comprehensive bariatric practice, and Specialist Suites that cater to various specialties with a focus on gastrointestinal health. Additionally, he leads the Australian Breath Analysis Laboratory, which provides diagnostic services for conditions like SIBO and carbohydrate intolerances.
Dr. Sartoretto’s research interests include translational device trials, where he has served as the Principal Investigator in several studies involving innovative endoscopic devices. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Medical Science with distinction. He completed his postgraduate training at Westmead Hospital and advanced endoscopy fellowship at Concord Repatriation General Hospital.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Sartoretto has been involved in medical education and mentorship. He has served as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney and has received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Westmead Association. His teaching roles also include being a Course Facilitator for the Australian Society for HIV Medicine and an instructor in Advanced Life Support with the Australian Resuscitation Council.
Dr. Sartoretto is a member of several professional bodies, including the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). His commitment to advancing medical practice and education is evident through his various roles and contributions to the field.
