In the realm of lower GI, the skilled surgeons address colorectal cancer, participate in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP), manage inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, pilonidal disease, and various other conditions. Their services extend to the diagnosis and treatment of haemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal fistulas, rectal prolapse, colonic polyps, and hernias.
The Upper GI specialty at Macarthur Surgical Group includes expertise in oncology, covering the oesophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile duct. They provide tailored solutions for gallbladder and gallstone issues, reflux, hiatus hernias, and other benign upper GI conditions.
The team also offer management of pelvic floor disorders, such as rectal prolapse, faecal incontinence, obstetric injuries, and employ advanced diagnostic tools like endoanal ultrasound, anorectal manometry, and sacral nerve neuromodulation.
