Established in 1999 by Dr Roess Pascoe, Hearts 1st is an accredited cardiac diagnostic imaging service located on Level 1 of St Vincent's Private Hospital in Toowoomba. The Hearts 1st team is made up of echocardiologists, cardiac sonographers, ECG technicians, administration and support staff, all dedicated to delivering expert care.
Hearts 1st focuses on delivering the highest-quality cardiac care, prioritising accuracy and thoroughness in diagnosis. They ensure fast appointment scheduling and longer sessions to gather comprehensive data. With in-house training for Cardiac Scientists, they guarantee the collection of precise and reliable data. Their team of Cardiologists specialises in cardiac ultrasound, providing ongoing support to all healthcare providers.
Hearts 1st is committed to offering specialised echo and monitoring services for referring practitioners, ensuring timely and efficient reporting in a compassionate environment. Their diagnostic testing covers a broad spectrum of cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, and rhythm disorders. They specialise in contrast (Definity) imaging with echo and stress echo imaging, patent foramen ovale (PFO) detection via agitated saline imaging, and athlete screening in collaboration with sporting bodies such as the Queensland Academy of Sport, Queensland Reds and Brisbane Broncos. Additionally, they are actively engaged in varied research work in partnership with Gallipoli Medical Research.
