Cabrini Elsternwick – Women’s Mental Health is a dedicated women’s-only private mental health hospital. It provides a place for women to feel safe and supported during their recovery journey.
Located in the Lisa Thurin Women’s Health Centre in Elsternwick, this 30-bed inpatient facility serves women aged 18 to 65 dealing with various mental health conditions, including mood disorders (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder), burnout and stress, complex trauma (including post-traumatic stress disorder), and addiction.
The dedicated team offer a range of mental health services ranging from a short-stay 7-10 day intensive inpatient program to a community programs including group and individual therapy. Within the inpatient programme clients will spend six hours per day in various structured group activities that use treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). There are also a range of other activities on offer to improve wellness.
The team of mental health professionals at Cabrini Elsternwick focuses on the comfort and peace of mind of clients during their stay. The service offers inpatient psychosocial treatment programs and individualized treatment methods tailored to each woman's needs.
Cabrini Elsternwick aims to provide a supportive environment for women to address their mental health challenges and work towards recovery. They accept referrals from anywhere in Australia for their inpatient program. For rural and regional clients, their community programs can also be delivered via telehealth.
