Dr. Vijaya Venkataraman is a highly experienced Specialist Physician with clinical interests spanning acute medicine, cardiometabolic medicine and perioperative medicine. Her main interests are primary and secondary dyslipidemias, POTS, cardiac amyloid and complex cardiac issues in Indigenous populations. She plays a key role in managing complex perioperative care, having completed masters degree in perioperative medicine at Monash University. Since then, she has held consultant roles across several hospitals in Tasmania and Western Australia. From 2012, she served as a Senior Consultant Physician at Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital, where she provided both acute and sub-acute inpatient care and led outpatient cardiology clinics. In 2013, Dr. Venkataraman was appointed Clinical Associate Professor at the Rural Clinical School, University of Western Australia, where she continued to serve as a medical coordinator and mentor to medical students and junior doctors till 2021.
