About Dr Veena Patel
Dr. Veena Patel is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital and also works at University Hospital of Leicester. With extensive experience in the management of a wide range of conditions, Dr. Patel specialises in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (commonly presenting as back pain), soft tissue rheumatism, connective tissue diseases, metabolic bone disorders, osteoporosis, muscle disorders, and osteoarthritis. Dr. Patel's academic contributions are significant, as she regularly teaches undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Her expertise has led to multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and she holds the title of Senior Lecturer (Honorary) at the University of Leicester. After earning her Membership in 2010, Dr. Patel began her rheumatology training in Liverpool and completed her final year of training in Leicester in 2015. She also holds specialist accreditation in general (internal) medicine. Dr. Patel took up her post as Consultant Rheumatologist at Derby Hospital in 2016 and moved to UHL in April 2018, where she continues to deliver expert care.
