About Mr Tosan Okoro
Mr Tosan Okoro was appointed as a Consultant in hip and knee arthroplasty at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in December 2019. He studied medicine at the University of Warwick before completing core surgical training in the West Midlands Deanery. As a Clinical Academic Trainee, he undertook a PhD at Bangor University focusing on exercise rehabilitation following total hip arthroplasty, alongside higher surgical training across South Wales. He is a graduate of the British Orthopaedic Association National Future Leaders Programme and has pursued extensive international fellowship training. This includes a lower limb reconstruction fellowship at the Sunnybrook Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre in Toronto, Canada, as well as an AOTrauma Fellowship at the University of São Paulo in Brazil. He also completed the Stephan Perren AOTrauma Research Fellowship at Charité Hospital in Berlin and further training at the AO Institute in Davos. Mr Okoro has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and has received several research awards, including Best Poster at the British Orthopaedic Research Society and Best Research Project at the European Foot and Ankle Society. Alongside his clinical and academic work, he supervises registrars on the Oswestry and Stoke orthopaedic rotation and is actively involved in teaching across a range of orthopaedic educational courses.
