About Dr Tim Robinson
Dr Tim Robinson is a Consultant Senior Lecturer in Medical Oncology at the University of Bristol and an Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in breast cancer. He treats patients privately at GenesisCare in Bristol but also offers home chemotherapy through Sciensus. Dr Robinson is committed to delivering highly personalised, evidence-based care and supporting patients in making informed decisions about their treatment options. He is known for dedicating significant time to each patient and for clear communication, with follow-up appointments lasting a minimum of 30 minutes and new or second-opinion consultations typically 60 minutes, ensuring comprehensive discussion and shared decision-making. He regularly delivers educational talks for charities such as Breast Cancer Now, helping patients better understand treatment options for both metastatic breast cancer and TNBC. Dr Robinson completed his clinical and academic training in medical oncology in Bristol and undertook a Cancer Research UK Clinical Fellowship, leading to the award of a PhD from Cardiff University. His doctoral research focused on breast cancer stem cells in chemo-resistance and the development of novel therapeutic strategies. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in oncology from the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London. He was awarded a Coltmans Scholar Award from the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium for his research on the gut microbiome and breast cancer. He has authored >50 peer-reviewed publications and presented widely at national and international conferences. He is involved in multiple collaborative projects looking at the use of immunotherapy in TNBC. Dr Robinson is actively involved in clinical research as both a Principal Investigator in Bristol and a Chief Investigator on international trials, including global Chief Investigator roles in two metastatic breast cancer studies. He is a member of national collaborative research groups and was appointed to the National Cancer Institute Breast Cancer Precision Medicine Working Group in 2022.
