Dr Thomas Heseltine
Cardiology
About
Graduating with honours from the University of Liverpool in 2010, Dr Heseltine completed his medical training in the North West before sub-specialising in advanced cardiac imaging. He has expertise in cardiac MRI, coronary CT, echocardiography, and cutting-edge techniques such as CaRi-Heart® and coronary calcium scoring. His clinical interests include diagnosing and managing heart failure, hypertension, chest pain, and early signs of cardiovascular disease.
Dr Heseltine earned a PhD for research into cardiovascular disease progression in patients with HIV, which broadened into wider work on visceral fat, metabolism, and the impact of lifestyle on heart health. He remains active in post-doctoral research, exploring the role of imaging in early detection and prevention.
He offers a full range of cardiac testing, including advanced cross sectional imaging (cardiac CT, cardiac MRI), echocardiographyans exercise toelrance testing, aiming to prevent disease progression through early intervention, lifestyle change, and tailored treatment.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
