Dr Tofiq has a background in surgery before switching to psychiatry training
at leading London institutions and completed her specialist psychiatric
training at the prestigious Maudsley Training Programme. She also undertook
psychotherapy training at the Tavistock Clinic, equipping her with advanced
skills in understanding personality, resilience, and motivation. This dual
foundation in neuroscience and psychotherapy underpins her distinctive
approach: blending evidence-based neuroscience with performance and pragmatisim to optimise both wellbeing and cognitive function.
She has held senior roles in liaison psychiatry, mood disorders, eating disorders and
psychological medicine, including as a consultant at The Royal Marsden
Hospital, Europe’s largest cancer centre. Her broader expertise spans
depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, adult ADHD, and stress-related
conditions.
Dr Tofiq has a particular interest in women’s health across the lifespan,
including the mental health impact of hormonal transitions such as pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause, and how these affect mood, performance, and resilience. She is equally committed to the emerging field of longevity medicine, exploring how advances in neuroscience, precision psychiatry, and personalised interventions
can support sustained mental sharpness and wellbeing throughout life.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Tofiq has contributed to research and
development in neuroscience and novel therapeutics and continues to advise in
the health-tech and life sciences sectors. She works closely with executives
and high-performing individuals to build resilience frameworks, optimise
mindset, and sustain long-term impact in demanding environments.
