About

Dr Tamir Malley is a Consultant in Rheumatology and Acute & General Internal Medicine based in London. Dr Malley looks after private patients at The Physicians' Clinic and The Princess Grace Hospital, alongside his NHS work at the Royal Free Hospital.

Dr Malley diagnoses and treats a broad range of musculoskeletal and multiorgan autoimmune diseases, as well as performing joint and soft tissue injections and aspirations to treat various rheumatic conditions. He also specialises in the investigation and treatment of rare autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases, in addition to the diagnostic process and management of medically unexplained symptoms.

Dr Malley's role as an Acute & General Internal Medicine Consultant principally involves diagnosing, stabilising and treating a wide variety of life-threatening and non-life-threatening medical conditions. He is the Clinical Service Line Co-Lead for Acute Medicine at The Royal Free Hospital, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred urgent care through leadership of clinical standards, operational performance, and service innovation.

Dr Malley takes take a thorough, holistic and compassionate approach when treating his patients; ensuring their needs and wishes are at the heart of the care they receive. He pays close attention to his patients’ cultural and health beliefs, as well as supporting them with the wider impact of their condition and treatment on their lives.

At the Royal Free Hospital, Dr Malley jointly runs the Connective Tissue Disease and Vasculitis Clinic, and founded the Rheumatology Hot Clinic – a rapid access clinic for patients with new and acute rheumatological conditions – designed to facilitate the early recognition and prompt treatment of potentially damaging and organ-threatening diseases. He works closely with oncologists, as part of the Immunotherapy Multidisciplinary Team, to treat cancer patients developing Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor-related Rheumatic Diseases.

As an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor, Dr Malley works alongside University College London Medical School to deliver undergraduate teaching and training to our future doctors. He formerly held the positions of Acute Medicine Undergraduate Lead at the Royal Free Hospital, and Rheumatology Undergraduate Lead for the Barnet Hospital cohort. Dr Malley also maintains his interest and involvement in academia and research as a site Principal Investigator in multi-centre clinical trials.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
